It is safe to say I have been slightly obsessed with Crumb‘s video for the excellent “BNR” since it was released a few months ago. Every time I rewatch it I find myself spotting a detail I hadn’t caught before which is a testament to director Joe Mischo as well as frontwoman Lila Ramani‘s absolute charisma.
The track itself is a hazy and at times eerie number that manages to sound simultaneously modern yet timeless in its execution. The vocals float effortlessly over strummed chords and wailing surf guitar with the drumline proving to be particularly effective on the chorus.
“’BNR’ is an ode to my favorite colors [black and red]. I had a weird obsession with those colors in winter 2018-2019 and felt like they would follow me around everywhere I went.
