Emie Nathan makes an immediate impression with “Noman“. While this debut release can justly be filed under pop, it is not exactly your typical chart hit. Instead, the track plays on the tension between its sparse and contemplative verses and a chorus that soars.
Undoubtedly the standout factor is Emie‘s accomplished performance. The London (via New York) artist knows when to be restrained and when to fire on all cylinders lending a great dynamic to the subject matter of trying to see the world in a more positive light.
Appearing sophisticated but not pretentious is not necessarily an easy trick to pull off, “Noman” succeeds effortlessly.
