There is comfort in knowing that no matter how messed up things get in the world José González‘s output always stays consistent. That is not to say that the Swede’s music is repetitive or predictable. Rather, its delicate nature and confident delivery immediately takes a soothing quality.
Having already featured the single “Head On” from his latest release it is a pleasure to hear that “Tjomme” follows a similar satisfying pattern. What is definitely different on this release is that the singer is exploring his own languages with this one, in particular, sung in Swedish. While I clearly don’t understand the actual words González still manages to convey empathy and depth.
