We always enjoy picking our top albums/artists of the year to be included in The Hype Machine‘s Music Blog Zeitgeist as one of those occasions where all Cougar Microbes writers comes together.
This sunday BBC 6 Music and The Hype Machine are joining forces to unveil the top 25 artists of the year SO FAR and we wanted to chime in too with the top 3 albums.
Beach House‘s new album ‘Bloom‘ has had us swooning over Victoria Legrand‘s majestic deliver. Their songs have shown an evolution in the duo’s sound while maintaining the same dream like quality we have to come to expect.
South London upstarts Kick Up The Fire where featured when I did my BBC 6 Radio takeover last year. Back with new EP ‘Money Men’ they continue to sound like Franz Ferdinand on anabolic steroids.
Tigercats succeed in the rare feat of making copious references to their East London home while managing not to sound like any other band in the country at the moment. Catchy as hell and just the right side of quirky, new album ‘Isle Of Dogs‘ is out now.
