Three years on from 2009’s excellent ‘Fantasies‘ Metric return with their 5th studio release.’Synthetica‘ is a concept album of sorts with Emily Haines describing what I understand as a Blade Runner meets X-Factor scenario. With production duties manned by guitarist Jimmy Shaw the band
were able to work towards the sound they craved with no outside interference and the results don’t dissapoint.
The Canadian indie darlings recently dropped by for a session with our friends at The Mahogany Blog recording unplugged versions of 2 new tracks. They are also heading out on an extensive US tour this September. Check dates near you.
