California Wives release their debut album ‘Art History‘. The second single, ’Blood Red Youth‘, mixes in just the right blend of synth to allow the sound to swoon like The Cure. The guitars take the song into a heartfelt anthem of resentment towards people who do not stay true to who they really are.
Elsewhere on tracks like “Marianne” and “Purple” the band channel a higher paced upbeat feel to their sound maintaining a Editors meets Nada Surf on prozac kinda vibe. Definitely an album that will extend your summer.
