With all the footage from the film En kärlekshistoria being squeezed into a four minute music video, it would be easy to compromise the storyline due the small timeframe it has to be conveyed in.
Instead, Summer Camp have managed to beautifully craft a vision of a purer, more idyllic time, as a Swedish 1970s version of Romeo and Juliet plays out. It perfectly encapsulates nostalgic memories of youth, complete with the perpetual desperation to appear cool, the naivety of underage smoking, of course, some classic Scandinavian knitwear.
The adumbrated synth in “Round the Moon” draws parallels with the hazy, retro film suggesting that the more innocent way of life has been lost in the mist of time and certainly leaves me longing to be with my friends, riding our bikes and enjoying the simple things in life.
