Back in June we wrote a gushing tribute to Tigercats‘ debut album proclaiming ‘Isle Of Dogs‘ as indie pop the way it is meant to be – with snaps, crackles and all. Six months on and the love for this little gem has only grown.
Frontman Duncan Barrett‘s nasal voice neatly interplays with keyboardist Laura‘s as they take turns giving ode and/or critiquing their South East London hunting ground. The crafty lyrics will have you nodding your head and smiling at all the witty references peppered throughout their repertoire.
Chock filled with sweet melodies ‘Isle of Dogs‘ offers an idiosyncratic blend of sounds that beg for attention while revealing new details with every listen.
British indie is alive and well.
