Check out London based singer Rose Betts. Her recently released single ‘Changing Days‘, an enthusiastic ode to her twin sister, has a vocal melody that will haunt you hours after the track has ceased to play.
The track itself is deceivingly straightforward, but scratch a little below the surface and there is more than enough complexities to be discovered. Rose says, ‘Change is such an ambiguous word, it’s both losing and gaining, which is why the song suits such a contrast between the feeling and the words. I walked in, sat down at my keyboard in my little room and wrote it immediately. It’s one of those ‘fall out of the sky’ songs. In this case it fell out of the night sky!’
With a full EP due later this year Rose has shows coming up on March 16 at The Old Queens Head and April 26th at Servant Jazz Quarters.
