With a soul as deep as an ocean abyss, singer/songwriter Ella Walker aka WILDES invites us into her enchanting world through debut single “Bare“- and what a jaw dropping debut to drop.
As you get older, your attention span gets shorter, however, I can safely say that I sat perfectly still, open mouthed and bewitched for the whole first listen from the achingly beautiful reverberated electric guitar behind Walker’s colossal but very naked voice.
19 year old Walker states Joni Mitchell amongst others (Laura Marling, Orlando Weeks) as inspiration, and Blue era Mitchell shows through here; raw emotion mixed with a haunting presence.
“You’ve seen me bare“, she howls, and I think on this occasion (spiritually of course), these honest and fearless pros serve to show we just have.
