Grado is the brainchild of guitarist/songwriter Michael Bloss. Having quit his job in London to live in various European locations for five years he recently returned to the UK. Over this period he composed and honed the 10 songs that would go on to make his self-titled debut release.
Grado‘s music can loosely be labelled as indie with elements of folk thrown in for good measure. Each track takes the listener on it’s own particular journey taking elements from modern indie and running them through a distinctively British filter. The result is an honest and raw set of song that act as a sort of sonic memoir of Bloss‘ wanderlust period.
At times the vocals sound like Bernard Sumner fronting Death Cab For Cutie and with each listen a new element emerges to keep me coming back for more.
Grado‘s self titled EP is out now and available via bandcamp.
