It could be argued that Yotto‘s music making ability is in his genes. The son of a former rock musician in his native Finland, the up and coming DJ displayed a flair for music from an early age picking up the piano and the synthesiser by the age of 12. A couple of decades have passed and today he proudly represents his nation and becoming one of the hottest rising artists. Mixmag thought that much when they premiered the track “Wilderness Girl“ highlighting its irresistible bass line and melodies.
It’s his ability to crisscross genres and transcend what is normally expected from the labels he is involved with is commendable. Furthermore, he is at ease with both his own materials and remixing favourites from other artists. In today’s musical landscape as his output matures and takes on new dimensions, Yotto has good chances to find mainstream success beyond the dance/electronic arena.
That is not to say the man born as Otto Yliperttula isn’t set to continue to rise on this circuit as well as can be demonstrated by his recent track ‘North‘ which was premiered by none other than Annie Mac just recently.
We strongly recommend you keep tabs on this guy because his output genuinely deserves it.
