Fafa Galoure, the long-standing project lead by vocalist and songwriter Efrat Cohen, are putting the final touches to a brand new EP as we speak. “I Am The Sun” is the first single from the upcoming release and takes the band into a fresh and much more energetic direction.
Right from the first notes, the track erupts out of the speakers offering a tight as fuck drum beat and discordant yet irresistible guitar lines. Efrat herself oozes cool delivering her lyrics in assured fashion with what, if I’m not mistaken, is a slight hint of a British accent.
The ensemble denominates their music as “Deep Dive Rock” and frankly, that makes a great first impression. To me, their sound is reminiscent of The Breeders, Belly, Sleater-Kinney and the exciting sounds the “alt-rock” scene was producing in the 90s.
