The song is extremely rhythmic, clapping hands beating into you like the impending crest of a wave. Reminiscent of Lana del Rey, vocalist Yael Shoshana Cohen’s seductively sweet voice drips with romantic nostalgia for ‘50s era rock. “Echoes” explores a paradoxical idea of not-so solitary individual isolation. Lola Marsh propels this conundrum by admitting that “…I know that they won’t save me, From the voices in my mind, And I know that I can’t run away and hide… And the sun begins to shine on the lonely one,” eventually concluding with a glimmer of hope for external contact and thus purpose that “‘… I’m here for someone.”
