“LUUV” is the debut single by new Orange County-based duo, Broken Hearts Club. With forthcoming album, ‘Make Out Music‘ also ready to drop, Richie Aquino and Bradly Baldwin’s brand is born out of a desire to reflect the world that they find themselves in, engulfed in love and heartbreak and rife with a pretty specific nostalgia for 90s romcoms (and an even more specific shared love of Rachael Leigh Cook).
Justifiably described by KCRW’s Jason Kramer as “very cool”, the track is indie-dream pop at its finest, drawing you into a world of indulgent romantic melancholy in the best possible way. The accompanying video (directed by Francis Galluppi) is also impressive in its production, narratively referring back to that sense of escapism and nostalgia.
Broken Hearts Club’s music is instantly relatable and will be a haven for fellow heart-breakees. Go seek them out and contentedly wallow in the angst of romance.
