Atlanta native Nadia Veh single “Heavy” is a bright and spirited track that blends lush textures with synth-heavy melodies all accentuated by a rousing vocal performance.
Now calling Los Angeles her home, “Heavy” is the 4th single she released in what was, without doubt, a busy year. There is a playful sensuality on display in both the track and the video that atmospherics really serve the melody and creates an instant zest to proceedings.
It sounds a little like a late 90s Sophie Ellis Bextor track with an updated modern production quality. Describing the track as “Two lovers trapped in a manipulative relationship – but they can’t help but keep playing because the game is too fun“, you can’t help but close your eyes and picture this scenario. It’s this twist on the usual love-laced pop song that keeps you coming back for more.
It would be a shame not to highlight additional music here and because we are feeling particularly festive on this holiday here are Nadia‘s recently released Christmas themed releases (something slightly out of the framework of her other songs but fitting for this period), as well as her haunting, take on Nirvana‘s “Heart Shaped Box“.
