Alt-J have so far dropped 2 singles from their imminent album and “Hard Drive Gold” is set to whet the appetite of longtime fans.
The song is surprisingly upbeat when compared to the band’s past output but still contains the trademark quirkiness that has made the Leeds band stay interesting over the years.
Additionally, the video for “Hard Drive Gold” marks the directorial debut of frontman Joe Newman. I’ve always felt he has a cinematic approach to making music so this evolution is not entirely surprising and the result is suitably offbeat.
