Arctic Monkeys have released the latest music video for their song “Sculptures of Anything Goes,”. Directed by Ben Chappell, this visually stunning production boasts a captivating retro aesthetic due in part to the analogue equipment used to film.
The opening scenes of the video reveal the band rehearsing backstage before a concert, and then transitions to live footage of the song being performed during their recent tour of Australia and South America. The grainy film footage and kaleidoscopic visuals perfectly capture the crowd’s energy during the live performance.
“Sculptures of Anything Goes” marks the fourth music video release from Turner and co.’s seventh studio album ‘The Car‘, following “There’d Better Be A Mirrorball,” “Body Paint,” and “I Ain’t Quite Where I Think I Am.”
The album was produced by James Ford in Suffolk, Paris, and London, and this wandering world-conquering nature is felt throughout the music. With plenty of accolades under their belt already, Arctic Monkeys have recently been announced in the coveted headliner spot for Glastonbury 2023, showcasing just how far they’ve come since their Myspace days.
Any fan of the band should watch the “Sculptures of Anything Goes” video, as the retro aesthetics and gritty visuals only serve to enhance the song’s appeal.
