Quenta return with the new single “Cartoon Concept”

After our last encounter with Quenta, where we explored their single “The Two Of Us and conducted a compelling interview with the talented duo, Karlost and Dee, it’s a genuine pleasure to welcome them back along with their brand-new single/video.

Their latest creation, “Cartoon Concept,” is a contemplative number, showcasing a more introspective side when compared to their previous work. This inward-looking perspective underscores Quenta‘s remarkable ability to craft meaningful music in diverse forms, constantly pushing the boundaries of their art while seeking to evoke deep emotions.

Drawing inspiration from Tom Waits‘ experimental “junkyard” era, the track’s beat carries the same gritty essence, with a piano groove seamlessly weaving into the rhythmic tapestry. The inclusion of Karlost‘s delicate mandolin, a treasured heirloom from his grandfather, adds an enchanting layer to the song’s narrative, intensifying the eerie atmosphere that shrouds the entire release.

Lyrically, “Cartoon Concept” delves into the unrealistic beauty standards imposed by society, whether intentionally or inadvertently, culminating in a powerful plea that resonates deeply: “Amidst all this conflict, we grapple to find resolution.”

The track was meticulously crafted at London‘s Hermitage Works Studio, under the expert guidance of accomplished producer Nathan Ridley, recognized for his work with artists such as Zoe Kypri and Plantoid. Released independently under their ‘Late To The Game‘ label, this venture grants the duo complete creative control to continue weaving their musical enchantment.

As we eagerly await Quenta‘s next step, we applaud their unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries and stirring emotions through their craft. Karlost and Dee‘s undeniable talent, coupled with their seemingly unbreakable friendship, continue to shine brightly, promising even more musical gems in the future. We can’t wait to see where their creative spirit leads them next.
