Columbus, Ohio music royalty is back with a vengeance. This is explosively projected and reminds one of their absolute brilliance. It’s Twenty One Pilots of course. They soar back into our lives like they had never left with the excellent 1st single off their new album ‘Clancy‘ with the mega-magnificent comeback anthem, “Overcompensate“.
Roaring over the seas in stunning fashion inside this high voltage music video to splendour, this is a welcome back track to play at full volume no matter the hour or the company.
Returning to the world they inhabited on their 2018 album ‘Trenchand‘ and marking their return after the underrated “Scaled and Icy” from 2021, the duo have been teasing fans with red tape all over their artwork and have satisfied salivated faces with a stupendous effort packed with lyrical mystery at times through French and Spanish.
A week before the release, a trailer had all fans guessing on their next move:
“I am trapped, stuck in a cycle I have never been able to break,” narrates frontman Tyler Joseph at the trailer’s beginning. “I want to believe this is the last time, but I don’t know for sure.”
Conquering their new island Voldsøy was the mission that was executed rather effortlessly from a music outfit who seem to have miraculous superpowers which keeps everything cult-like and thrilling to the core. Just the way we like it right?
